This activity has two steps: Listen and Arrange.

Listen: The symbol for each boat represents a different tune. Listen to all four tunes and then click the big green Arrange button.

Arrange: Organize your own pattern by dragging and dropping the symbols. Click the yellow play button to listen to your pattern.

Listen to both patterns and decide if they are the same or different.

Organize the animals onto the turtle shells and listen to your patterns.

Click the blue play button to hear the folk song “old Joe Clark.”

Drag the A into the slot next to the first line. Is the second line same or different than the first line? If it’s the same, put the same letter (A). If it’s different, put a different letter (B).

Click the yellow play button. What pattern did you hear?

Drag the A into the first box. Did the second box sound the same or different than the first box? Use the same letter or different letter to represent the pattern that you heard.
